FAQ

Here you will find the most frequently asked questions we receive.  Don’t see your question here?  Please feel free to shoot us an email at info@gustoonthego.com and ask!

How far in advance should we book our event with you?  We recommend securing your date with us as soon as you know you would like us to cater your event!  We only book a limited number of events due to the boutique nature of our business and book as far out as 12-18 months in advance.

What is your minimum?  Weddings start at $4,000 and all other {non-Saturday} events start at $1,000.

Do you offer tastings?  YES!  We would be happy to schedule a private tasting for all bridal couples, up to 4 people.  Cost starts at $45/couple, however if you decide to book us, we apply that amount towards your balance due {making it complimentary}.

How do we secure you for our event?  We require a signed contract and 25% non-refundable food deposit to secure your date on our calendar.

What does the “catering fee” include?  Our catering fee helps off-set the cost of labor and administration costs such as email and/or phone correspondence, dishwashing, packing for your event, sourcing ingredients, clean up, site visits, working with rental companies, etc., however it also includes the following:

  • SERVICE STAFF
  • buffet set-up of all food purchased through Gusto on the Go w. all serving platters + utensils, chaffing dishes, chaffing fuel
  • custom menu boards or buffet signage w. descriptions for each selection
  • 6′ buffet tables w. fitted black linens (up to four; upon request)
  • bussing of tables after your guests are finished eating
  • scraping of plates/utensils, restacked into rental bins (if applicable)
  • disposal of trash after dinner service into venue dumpster (upon request)
*please note that the catering fee is not gratuity and is subject to state and local tax

Is gratuity included in your pricing?  No.  We feel that gratuity should be given based upon your satisfaction with your experience with us.  It is not expected, but graciously accepted!

How many servers are included?  Generally, we will staff 1 server for every 25-35 guests for a buffet, but we take into account your menu, event size and the duration, so this number may vary.

What do your servers wear?  For casual events (aka truckside service), modest, casual, weather appropriate attire w. logo black apron.  For weddings and more formal events, white button down collared shirts w. black pant and logo black apron.

What type of service to you offer?  Stationary and/or Passed Hors d’oeuvres, Themed Food Stations, Buffet, Truckside {where guests come up to the window in our food trailer to “order”}

How long does it take to serve my guests?  This depends largely on the type of service you have chosen and how many guests you have, but other factors that affect how quickly we can serve your guests are whether or not your guests already know what is on the menu (we highly recommend placing individual menus at each place setting!), how many selections there are to choose from, and if you have someone {dj or coordinator} releasing tables.

Do you offer bar services?  Unfortunately, no, we do not offer the sale or service of alcohol, however we would be happy to recommend some of our favorite local mobile bartending services that we have worked with at previous events- please ask!

Do you have rentals?  Yes, we work closely with a third party rental company {at no additional charge} to offer our clients any type of rental items you may need for your event; including china, flatware, glassware, linens, tables, chairs, heaters, etc.  You can book them directly through us so we handle all payment, delivery + pick-up…all you have to do is let us know what you want!

What is the advantage of hiring Gusto on the Go for my event?  We, Chris {chef} and Erin {catering manager}, are at EVERY event, and we only book one event per date.  We do NOT double book so that we may give each client the care and attention to detail that we feel you deserve during your special occasion.  We also bring our fully-inspected, mobile commercial kitchen to every event to prep, cook and stage all of the food you and your guests will be enjoying ON SITE- so it is guaranteed FRESH!
